JOB DESCRIPTION:
Gannett Co., Inc. is seeking a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner. This professional will report to the East Group HR Director and will support the HR needs of four Florida sites includingthePensacola News Journal,the Tallahassee Democrat,Florida Today and the News-Press with approximately 450 employees in the combined sites.Theposition is located in Ft. Myers, Florida.This position has two direct reports. This position will coordinate recruitment and retention initiatives, training opportunities and maintain effective employee relations at their home site and across Florida. This position involves coordinating HR strategies with the Regional Group President who is located in Ft. Myers.This position must be able to provide quality human resource products and services that are responsive to and aligned with the business strategy. Successful candidate must have the capability and flexibility to work with a diverse group of employees. This is a seasoned HR Generalist position that will be instrumental in facilitating an employee-oriented, high performance workplace culture. This professional will also support East Group projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

This professional must be able to work effectively with the all levels of management in discussions regarding performance management, restructuring, coaching, and training.
Ability to provide excellent customer service, time management and communication skills.
Must be able to demonstrate professional presentation and conflict resolution skills.
The ability to react productively to change and effectively multi-task is critical.
Knowledge of local, state and federal laws regarding employment, wage and hours, OSHA and related laws
Excellent interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
Ability to prepare deliverables and reports accurately within time deadlines.
Ability to coordinate several tasks simultaneously.
Detail oriented and able to react to change productively.
Strong ethical standards and integrity are a must.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Human Resources or equivalent is required. Master's degree or HR certification is preferred.
A minimum of 8-10 years experience as an HR Generalist required.
A working knowledge of employment laws and multi-level recruitment experience.
Demonstrated human resources experience, with emphasis on recruiting, training and employee relations.
Proficient knowledge/ability with all Microsoft Office Applications and using social media applications in recruiting.
